Biography

Capt Kylie Baxter Hamilton is the Flight Commander and Medical Director, 1st Special Operations Theater Air Operations Squadron (1 SOTAOS), Hurlburt Field, Florida. In this capacity, she directs all operational medical capabilities and synchronizes healthcare readiness in direct support of tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) missions. As a dual-hatted leader, Captain Hamilton commands clinical personnel and integrates medical assets to ensure continuous, high-consequence mission execution across the squadron’s theater of operations.

Captain Hamilton’s distinguished career in the United States Air Force spans over 17 years of dedicated service, beginning with her enlistment as an Aerospace Medical Technician in April 2009. Demonstrating exceptional technical expertise and leadership potential, she was selected for the prestigious Interservice Physician Assistant Program (IPAP) in April 2018, subsequently receiving her commission as a Biomedical Sciences Corps officer in October 2020.

Throughout her career, Captain Hamilton has cultivated a diverse clinical and operational portfolio. Her extensive background as a clinician encompasses critical care, surgical specialties—including general, plastic, vascular, and bariatric surgery—as well as specialized roles in Flight Medicine, Women’s Health, Emergency Medicine, and the Personnel Reliability Assurance Program (PRAP). Emphasizing mission readiness, she served as a Field Response Team Chief, leading medical teams and managing emergency response assets during major base events and exercises. Her assignments have spanned multiple global locations, including New Mexico, Texas, South Carolina, Florida, Egypt, the United Kingdom, and a deployment to Iraq. Prior to assuming her current position, she served as the Warrior Operational Medical Clinic Element Lead at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina.
