Biography

Maj Ryan Taylor serves as the Group Surgeon for the 692nd Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, HI. He provides embedded medical care to 1.6K Airman conducting 24/7 ISR operations, while also advising command on quality of life, health trends, and initiatives to optimize readiness and resiliency.  Major Taylor’s career spans over 18 years of dedicated service, beginning with nine years as an enlisted Aerospace Medical Technician, Flight Paramedic, and IDMT. He was commissioned in 2019 through the Interservice Physician Assistant Program (IPAP), and has since been in a variety of roles as an APA in Flight and Operational Medicine, most recently serving as an Emergency Services Flight Commander. He also recently graduated with a Doctor of Medical Science in Emergency Management and Global Health Engagement from the Lynchburg University (2026).

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and daughter exploring the island. He enjoys long walks on the beach and is also an avid pickleball player, triathlete, harmonicist, karaoke king, line dancer, woodworker, gamer, snowboarder, movie-quoter, and an avid LA Rams / USC Trojans fan. He is honored to have been selected for DAL of activities and looks forward to looks forward to his position in SAFPA to advocate for the growth and readiness for the entirety of our total-force PA community.
